 Visit to International Mountain Museum.The International  Mountain Mesuem located 1.5km south of the Airpot,Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan ward No.17 Birauta,Pokhara Nepal is devoted to the mountains of Nepal.It provides information on mountaineering and the, cultures,environments,geography and ecology of the Himalayas. From the museum grounds three 8000 peaks are visible; Dhaulagiri,Annapurna I and Manaslu,a truly unique sight.With an objective of maintaining systematic records of the successful eight thousanders, geographic flora and fauna and human activities in the range, the International mountain Museum has been established at the foot step of fishtail peak and gate way to the mountain region. The shape of the museum roof itself resembles mountain skyline to any visitor before entering the museum main gate.


Mountains and mountaineering have a history of their own. Without preserving it, it will not be long before all the records and evidences will be lost forever. Nepal Mountaineering Association  established on 1 Nov 1973, initiated the establishment of International Mountain Museum in Pokhara. The basic objective for its establishment was made to record, document and chronicle the past and present development of mountaineering activities in the world in general and to preserve the saga of the momentous feats in the history of mountaineering in the Himalayan peaks in particular. The foundation stone of IMM was laid on 1 Dec, 1995. The soft opening of International Mountain Mesuem took place on 29 May, 2002 where it was officially opened on 5 Feb, 2004.



More than seventy thousand domestic and international tourists visit International Mountain Museum every year. International Mountain Mesuem records, documents and exhibits the past and present developments related to mountain and mountaineering around the world.The museum contains three main exhibition halls: Hall of Great Himalayas, Hall of Fame and Hall of World Mountains.Inside the museum, there are exhibits on famous peaks, descriptions of famous mountaineers, the culture and lifestyle of mountain people, flora and fauna including geology, in an attempt to represent the traditional culture and values of the Nepalese people.If you want to visit there,You can take taxi from  Lakeside and center Pokhara you get there 15minutes by taxi and 5 minutes from Airpot.Enjoy the trip to International Mountain Museum in Pokhara.

The opening hour of Nepal Mountaineering Association 's International Mountain Museum  was added for two hours with effect from 7 April 2019. As per the new time schedule, IMM opens daily from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm for the 365 days.


The entrance fee is fixed as follows:
Foreigner: Rs. 500.00
SAARC Nation: Rs. 250.00
Nepali: Rs. 100.00
Student: Rs. 50.00
Resident Visa: Rs. 250.00
Garden: Rs. 30.00
