  Annapurna Skateboard Park Pokhara

  This skateboard park is located inside the stadium of Pokhara. It should be about 4/5 hundred meters ahead of the stadium gate. It takes about ten minutes to walk. You can also go through gate number 4 of the stadium, which is closer to that gate. This gate is from Rambazar right on the opposite side of SOS school.

Skateboarding is a sport that originated in the United States, featuring riding on a skateboard, its performance, as well as an entertaining activity, Includes an art farm, recreational industry activity work, and a method of transportation. The size of skateboarding is being influenced by many skateboards throughout the year.

Skateboard Long & Short

   A 2009 report found that the skateboarding market was estimated to be worth 4.8 billion in annual revenue, with 11.08 million active skateboarders worldwide. In 2016, it was announced that skateboarding would be represented for both the men's and women's teams at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Since the 1970s, skate parks have been built exclusively for use by skateboarders, Freestyle BMXers, aggressive skaters, and more recently. However, the skateboarding area has been controversial where activities, albeit legal, have resulted in stone works causing damage to curbs, sidewalks, steps, benches, plazas, and parks.

Skateboard is a type of sports equipment used for skateboarding. They are usually specially designed from 7-8 ply maple plywood decks. For comfort and durability, with a pair of skateboard trucks and attached to the undersides of the wheels, it is made of polyurethane coating. Pushing with one foot to balance the board, the skateboard moves. A skateboard can also be used while standing on the deck only on a downward slope and allowing gravity to move the board and rider. If the leading leg of the rider is your right leg, they are said to be riding “foolish”. If the leading leg of the rider is your left leg, they are called “regular” riders. If the rider is normally regular but chooses to ride the fool (or vice versa), they are said to have ridden on the “switch”. Skaters are usually more comfortable pushing with their hind legs; Pushing with the front foot is commonly referred to as "Mongo" riding, and has a negative connotation of style and effectiveness in the skateboarding community.

There is no governing body that announces any rules and regulations on the composition of the skateboard or the parts from which it is assembled.  Historically, skateboards have been modified both in contemporary trends and by the ever-evolving array of stunts performed by riders/users that require some action from the board. The size of the board depends to a large extent on its intended function. A longboard is a type of skateboard with a long wheelbase and large, softer wheels.

Main Types Of Skateboards

The two main types of skateboards are the longboard and the shortboard. The shape of the board is also important: the skateboard must be concaved to perform tricks. Longboards are usually faster and are mostly used for cruising and racing, while shortboards are mostly used for doing tricks and riding in skateparks.

1.Longboard 

   A longboard is a skateboarding sport in which athletes use a longboard to compete in races, usually inspired by a longboard surfboard starting at Downhill, Highway. Variations are depending on the size of the wheels and how they turn. The downhill race is considered to be the most popular race using longboards. The boards used are specially designed and long, it is usually 35 to 44 inches long. Downhill races tend to be high-speed, where skaters tend to reach speeds above 80 mph. In downhill races, a maximum of four players is allowed to compete in rounds. The races begin abruptly, and the players climb the road course as quickly as possible, keeping the board under control. If riders lose control and fall down, they are allowed to run again.

2.Shortboard

 

  Shortboard is mostly used for doing tricks and riding in a skatepark. If you’d like to do some sweet and amazing tricks at the skate park, a shortboard is more used. For a first board, we’d recommend a shortboard, because you can do tricks and still cruise with a shortboard. If the front and back of the board are symmetrical and the edges of the wheels are rounded, that’s a shortboard. The skatepark competition is considered to be the most popular challenge using a shortboard. The boards used are specially designed and short, it is usually 7.5 to 31.5 inches long.
