This course is based on the employment performance requirements of staff nurses at different levels of Nepal's healthcare system. This course is based on the employment performance requirements of staff nurses at different levels of Nepal's healthcare system. Therefore, this course is designed to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes among graduates to demonstrate nursing professional practice. In total three years; The first year course focuses on basic nursing care in hospitals and communities: foundation nursing practices; The second year course focuses on the prevention, encouragement of therapeutic nursing care of sick adults and the elderly and the mentally ill. Similarly, the third year curriculum includes pediatrics, midwifery and gynecology as well as leadership and management.

6.Fishtail Nursing College

Fishtail Nursing College was established with the joint effort of Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) and Fishtail Hospital and Research Center. It is being managed by a group of people committed to build a sound, efficient and productive academic institution for quality education in the sector of health. We are currently running 3 years Proficiency Certificate Level Nursing program and planning to run the Post Basic Bachelor of Nursing in the near future.
Students at Fishtail Hospital and Research Center are exposed in various clinical settings and provide direct care services to the patients in our own hospital at the center of Pokhara Valley.

     Certificate of Proficiency Certificate (PCL) in Nursing Program 1999AD by Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) (2056 BS). However, with the permission of Tribhuvan University (TU), Institute of Medicine (IOM) to provide vertical and horizontal access to PCL nursing graduates, CTEVT,TU started using IOM course for nursing. Along with health change as well as the Government of Nepal’s health policy, CTEVT worked to respond to these needs; As a result, CTEVT has developed a curriculum for PCL Nursing in 2013. PCL is a well-known and popular subject within the nursing profession. The nursing profession is contributing to the overall development of health in the world and is also creating paid employment and self-employment opportunities in the public and private sectors.

 This course is designed to meet the demand of such a workforce to contribute to the national economic development of Nepal by producing a medium level technical nursing workforce equipped with knowledge and skills related to the field of nursing. The knowledge and skills included in this course are helping to meet individual needs as well as national needs in the field of nursing profession.

The Government of Nepal has adopted a national policy to achieve "health beyond 2000 AD" through the primary health care approach. As a result, CTEVT was mandated to produce medium level trained manpower through CTEVT as well as CTEVT affiliated organizations. In the process of curriculum development, the Government of Nepal has supported the concept of gerontology care. Because PCL nursing graduates are major service providers; 

The Department of Health has suggested that these emerging health problems be included in the curriculum. As psychiatric nursing theory and clinical hours have increased, so has a new subject called Basic Science Applied in Nursing, which includes biochemistry (microbiology, parasitology and virology) and pharmacology. Parts of Oncology Nursing have also been added to the curriculum. The course is conducted in both theoretical and practical.

Padma Nursing Home School of Nursing is affiliated with CTEVT and offers PCL Nursing program. Total number of available seats for enrollment is 40. It is located in New-road -8,Chipledunga, Pokhara Municipality, Kaski.Padma Nursing Home (P) Ltd is a 50 beds hospital which was established in 2052 B.S in order to provide easily, cheaply and qualitative health care facilities and services to people of Pokhara as well as whole western development region of Nepal. According to the rules & regulation and fulfillment of all the basic requirement, policy& manual, infrastructure and guidelines of private or nongovernmental health organization by the precious leading social worker and consultant Dr. Kumar Samser Rana has been established .

The establishment of such Nursing Home by private sector in that situation is a great pleasure to us and the people of this area. (At the starting there were only 20 beds, now it has extended to fifty beds). It is the first private health institute of this region, which is providing moderate, reliable and quality services by the help of consultant and reputed doctors of this region. In this nursing home including OPD services, indoor services (CCU, Medical, Surgical) 24 hours emergency service with ambulance, X-Ray, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Echocardiography, ECG , EEG,TMT, Halter, Monitor, advanced Laboratory, Physiotherapy Pharmacy and all the services are available. Here are also facilities of canteen, safe drinking water with euro guard as well as advance communication system. 10.Pokhara University School of Health and Allied Sciences

Pokhara University School of Health and Allied Sciences with the establishment of Faculty of Science and Technology in 1997 “School of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences” was launched in Pokhara City. School had a very modest start with B.Pharm. Program. In 2003, School has started B.Sc.MLT program aiming to meet the challenges of health of the 21st century in Nepal. In 2005, Faculty of Science and Technology shifted at the academic complex of Pokhara University in Lekhnath Municipality, which is famous as the Garden City of Seven Lakes. Since the same year school has launched M. Pharm. in natural product chemistry program.

In 2008, school has started a new Health Professional course; bachelor in Public Health. In 2009, the name of school was changed as School of Health and allied Sciences and B.Sc. Nursing program was started.To meet the mission of Pokhara University, from this year 2010, the school of Health and Allied Sciences is starting M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Care under the department of Pharmacy and MMLS (Microbiology) program under the Department of Laboratory Science.

School of Health and Allied Sciences, Pokhara University has adopted four years academic bachelor programs which are based on credit-semester system with continuous internal evaluations. An academic year of the University consists of two semester of 16 weeks each. The fall semester starts in September and the spring semester in March. Fresh Admissions are normally made at the beginning of the fall semester.
